The one thing that determines how tall you get is the age and the genetics mostly. However, there are measures that you can take to make sure that you do grow taller if you want to. This can be achieved by the following and implementation of a few things that biology taught me.
These methods are discussed below:
FUN FACT: The window for further growth closes when you are 16 for girls and 18 for boys. It completely closes when you get to around 21.
So, without wasting time, let’s get you growing bigger kid.
Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get to the six feet mark. Personally am about 5’8 and I am proud to be that height because am taller than or as tall as some of the greatest people who have ever lived. So, you need to know that you can get only as tall as your genes allow. Don’t lose hope.
- Here is a formula that can project your height:
- Add your parents’ height in inches or centimeters
- Add five inches if you are a boy and if you are a girl, subtract five
- Divide the result by two and there you have it, the projected height
*It’s not the most accurate but very close
- Avoid Growth Stunting
There are a lot of things that can make you fail to grow taller unless if course you can eliminate them. Finding out what these are is a bit hard of course but then again, you will need to have a balanced diet to maximize on that.
Sleep more, avoid drugs and substances that give you the ‘buzz’, don’t use steroids and do not overwork.
- Get A Lot of Sleep
When you are not yet a teenager, chances are that you will be a healthy kid sleeping 8 hours a night. There is a need to maintain that as you grow older. Do not allow yourself to be an insomniac as it deprives you of your ability to grow taller.
The growth hormone is produced when you sleep more and there is actually a medical procedure where you can have that hormone injected into you. It’s called HGH and it may have serious side effects if not properly used.
- Proper Meals
More doesn’t mean taller, balanced does. When you are feeding, make sure that whatever you are eating is a balanced diet that will include lots of minerals that will boost your growth. The food should have calorie and carbohydrate content that is high.
You should have lots of niacin, Vitamin D, protein, zinc and all of it should be taken in regularly scheduled meals.
- Keep Your Immune and Physical Strength Top Notch
When you are trying to get taller, you need to make sure that the immune system is strong to prevent diseases which are known to stunt people. You should exercise plenty to make sure that the physical strength you have is on point.
- Proper Posture And Confidence
When you are standing properly with a straight back head held high and shoulders straightened out, you will have better growth. Most of my friends are taller than me and some play basketball but I have instilled in myself the confidence that because am smarter than them, I am better off.
Find something you are proud of to compensate for your lack of height.
